We all know that trying to use wireless internet at a campground can be an exercise in futility. Those shared Wi-Fi networks are often crowded and congested, leading to slow, unreliable connections that can barely download email, let alone stream Netflix. In the world of solutions to this problem, the Travlfi JourneyGo 5G Hotspot is one to consider—a quick and easy portal to all things online.
As its name implies, the JourneyGo 5G connects to 5G cellular data networks, which can offer download speeds of up to 180 Mbps, although 25-100 Mbps is more typical. Should a strong 5G signal be unavailable, the device can fall back to 4G/LTE service, which still offers serviceable speeds of up to 40 Mbps. The hotspot converts that cellular connection into a Wi-Fi signal with support for up to 16 smartphones, tablets, laptops and other electronic gear. You can even connect the smart TV in your rig to stream video from your favorite services.
The JourneyGo’s built-in battery allows it to function without a separate power source for up to 24 hours, leaving you free to use it anywhere in your RV. It can also be carried outside for use around the campsite and is small enough to fit into a backpack when embarking on other adventures. An integrated touchscreen display shows remaining battery life and all currently connected devices, while making it easy to access settings. And unlike satellite internet, you don’t need a clear view of the sky to get connected.

All of these tech specs don’t necessarily make the JourneyGo unique, as there are other hotspots that offer similar performance. But this device separates itself from the competition by being able to connect to all of the major cellphone data networks, which greatly increases the likelihood of getting a good signal while traveling. The unit also eschews a physical SIM card in favor of an eSIM, allowing users to quickly and easily switch providers even when wandering the world. Perhaps best of all, no ongoing contract is required, meaning you can turn service off and on as needed. Plans start as low as $19 per month.
The JourneyGo 5G is a good fit for remote work, online gaming, accessing social media and staying in contact with friends and family while traveling. The device is easy to activate and configure, and ships with instructions and a USB-C charging cable. MSRP is a reasonable $299. Visit TravelFi.com for more info.
